Dupre was a really good skater, I had forgotten that about him. He was really a lot like Eric Wellwood is now back in the mid 1990's.

Thanks for sharing your story of meeting him at the Carnival.

Fun Fact about Rexy's. After the first Stanley Cup win, Rexy's was absolutely mobbed by fans, and the players ended up taking the Stanley Cup to another bar, Compton's Log Cabin, just a few miles away from Rexy's on the Audubon-Haddon Township border.

Unfortunately, the site of Compton's is now a Rite Aid.

They had pictures of that night in one of the offices. I was doing work there I I asked about it, and the manager told me about how Rexy's was swarmed-like a mass of humanity that blocked the Black Horse Pike-and that they ended up there.

Personally, I would have suggested Wheez's

visited Rexy's to death when i turned 21 Man I almost forgot about Yanick Dupre, that was a sad piece of history there. Really makes ya think how lucky you are if nothing just for your health.

The last time I went to Rexy's was probably in 1999, for dinner. Great food, no idea why I didn't go more often, didn't live too far away.

Of course, I could crawl home from PJ Whelihan's, the Crystal Lake Tavern & the Collmont/TomFischer's

Very true about Dupre and being lucky to have your health.

We had my daughter's 4th birthday party there,(she'll be 8 in November) and haven't been back since. Yet, I still get a weekly e-mail from them.

Too bad that there are probably very few here that have seen Jimmy Watson play.

Great Story Bill!

I always like Dupre too. Between Pelle, Dupre and the later Tertishny it seemed like every decade or so a player I really liked passed on.

I went to Rexy's a little bit, but by the time I was legal I think Kaminski's and the Coliseum were the more popular choices.

Pelle was only 26 when he died. And Dmitri Tertyshny was only 22 at the time of the terrible boat tragedy.

This franchise has had to endure it's fair share of tragedy.
